Vietnam itinerary 8 Days 7 Nights

DAY 1: ARRIVAL HANOI – CITY TOUR 

Upon arrival, meet your guide and driver at the airport. Transfer to the center of Hanoi and check in to your hotel with room allocation. Start your tour to visit Hanoi, the political capital of unified Vietnam. Begin with a visit to the political part of the city: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and One Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot). Take some time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature and the Old Quarter, an orientation tour by cyclo to explore this ancient city of peaceful lakes, the old quarter of 36 streets, Hoan Kiem Lake, the lake of the returned sword, Ngoc Son Temple (Jade Temple), and the Silk Street.

The Temple of Literature is a complex of buildings that was declared the first Vietnamese university in the 11th century. In the past, after passing the state exams, the doctorates were prepared to be sent as mandarins to various provinces of the kingdom to govern the people on behalf of the emperor. Now it is a delightful environment permeated with symbols of Confucianism, where Confucius, major teachers, and the first graduates of Confucian culture are venerated. For many, however, it is the temple of knowledge itself.

DAY 2: HANOI – HALONG BAY OVERNIGHT ON CRUISE 

After breakfast, departure by minibus to Ha Long Bay.

The journey involves crossing part of the Red River delta.

During the trip, you can admire the life of the farmers in the delta of the great Red River, typical small markets of rural villages, etc...

Upon arrival in Ha Long, board one of the junks, assignment of reserved cabins, and head towards the bay. You will have the opportunity to explore and experience the picturesque scenery of over 3,000 limestone islands that rise vertically from the emerald waters of the bay.

Lunch on board based on fish and shrimp,

Stops for visiting caves or taking a dip in the emerald waters of the wonderful bay!

Ha Long means "the place where the dragon descended", which according to legend, with blows of its tail, raised these fantastic mountains, making them become one of the natural wonders of the world. None of the islands are inhabited by man, and today the bay is considered a natural heritage of humanity and is protected by UNESCO.

After the excursion, for those who want, there are relaxation activities to enjoy the sunset on the bay or to go squid fishing.

Dinner and overnight on board the junk, anchored in a quiet cove in the middle of the bay.

DAY 3: HALONG BAY – BACK TO HANOI 

Early in the morning, for those who want to, there are Tai Chi exercises at dawn on the junk's terrace.

After breakfast on board, the excursion continues on the bay, with an "early" lunch and return to the pier.

Transfer by minibus to Hanoi. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon. Arrive in Hanoi and check-in at the hotel for overnight stay in Hanoi.

DAY 4: HANOI – HUE

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and flight to Hue, the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty, the last feudal family that ruled Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Upon arrival at Hue airport, transfer by car to the city center and begin the visits. We start with a boat trip on the romantic Huong River (Perfume River), which was a source of inspiration for many poets in the past. We continue with a visit to Thien Mu, the symbol of Central Vietnam. There will be time for lunch and room assignment. In the afternoon, we visit the complex of historic buildings, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the Imperial Citadel with the Forbidden City and the imperial tombs. After the visits, we take a walk to the Dong Ba market and return to the hotel. There will be time for dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Hue.

DAY 5: HUE - HOIAN

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Hoi An, passing through the Hai Van Cloud Pass. Upon arrival in Danang, we visit the Museum of Cham Civilization. Lunch in Danang and transfer to Hoi An. Check-in at the booked rooms and a guided tour of Hoi An. Currently, Hoi An is the only town in Vietnam that still preserves its authentic aspects of past centuries and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

 DAY 6:  HOIAN

Full day at leisure in Hoi An.

You can:

• relax at the beach
• ride a bike through villages and countryside around Hoi An
• book a tour to the My Son ruins, Champa civilization (35 km from Hoi An)
• or wander around the ancient city of Hoi An itself

DAY 7:  HOIAN - HO CHI MINH CITY 

Breakfast. Departure to Da Nang Airport for the Vietnam Airlines flight to Ho Chi Minh.

Upon arrival, depart for Cu Chi and then visit the guerrilla tunnels.

Lunch at a local restaurant and return to Ho Chi Minh.

Room allocation and then visit to the city of Ho Chi Minh.

The city of Ho Chi Minh, or Saigon, as many locals still call it by its old name, is the most important financial-economic center in Vietnam. It is said that if you look for something and you can't find it here, you won't find it anywhere else in Vietnam! You will be infected by its sunny spirit, amazed by the hard work of the people, and, why not, impressed by the movements of its over seven million motorbikes!

We proceed to visit the "colonial" part of Saigon: the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same architect who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and a visit to the former American embassy. Participation in the unique water puppet show. Free time for dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh). Lunch included, dinner on your own.

DAY 8: SAIGON – DEPARTURE (B)

Breakfast at hotel, leisure time until transfer out to airport for your flight back home.
