Phnom Penh–Nha Trang Flights Go to 3 a Week: What It Means for Vietnam–Cambodia Programs

Short answer: Air Cambodia has flown Phnom Penh to Cam Ranh, the airport for Nha Trang, twice a week since 17 January 2026, and increases the route to three weekly flights from 17 December 2026 on ATR 72 aircraft. For travel partners, it makes a Cambodia-plus-Nha-Trang program possible without backtracking through Ho Chi Minh City, and it puts Nha Trang within direct reach of the Cambodian outbound market.

What this means for Vietnam–Cambodia programs

  • Open-jaw routings without backtracking. A program can run Siem Reap and Phnom Penh first and end on the beach in Nha Trang, or start in Nha Trang and finish at Angkor — instead of routing every Cambodia extension through Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Build the program around flight days. With two, then three, flights a week, the Cambodia–Nha Trang leg fixes the day pattern of the whole itinerary. Confirm flight days before hotels.
  • Group size and aircraft. The ATR 72 is a turboprop with far fewer seats than an A320. Larger groups may need to split across departures, or route via Da Nang, where the Phnom Penh and Siem Reap flights move to A320 daily from 25 October 2026.
  • Baggage. Cabin space on turboprops is tighter; brief guests on carry-on size before departure.
  • The Cambodian market. Cambodian passports enter Vietnam visa-free for 30 days, so Nha Trang becomes a short-haul beach, family and incentive option for Cambodian agencies, alongside Phu Quoc and Da Nang.

Dong DMC operates Vietnam and Cambodia directly — one quote, one contract and one point of escalation across the border. Cambodia entry rules for third-country passports are confirmed at quotation.
