On the afternoon of January 16, 2026, Dong DMC participated in the Conference on the Review of People-to-People Diplomacy in 2025 and Directions for 2026, held in conjunction with the program “Friendship Gathering & Welcoming the New Year 2026.”
The event was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and took place in a formal yet warm atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of dialogue, cooperation, and long-term friendship.
A Platform for Institutional Dialogue and International Exchange
The conference brought together senior leaders from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, alongside Consuls General and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Ho Chi Minh City, including Belarus, Japan, Indonesia, China, South Korea, and other countries.
The program provided an opportunity to review key achievements in people-to-people diplomacy throughout 2025, while outlining cooperation priorities and engagement directions for 2026. Discussions emphasized the role of people-to-people diplomacy as a foundational layer supporting trust, mutual understanding, and sustainable international partnerships.
Key Messages from City Leadership
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, highlighted people-to-people diplomacy as a vital bridge in strengthening Ho Chi Minh City’s international relations. He emphasized its contribution to positioning the city as a dynamic, open, and internationally integrated metropolis, grounded in cooperation and shared values.
Ms. Ha Thanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, reviewed the notable outcomes of people-to-people diplomacy in 2025 and expressed expectations for deeper, more structured exchanges and cooperative initiatives in 2026, particularly through multi-stakeholder participation.
Dong DMC’s Participation and Engagement
As part of the program, Dong DMC representatives had the opportunity to engage in exchanges with Consuls General, diplomatic representatives, and participating organizations, as well as to visit exhibition booths showcasing cultural, economic, and cooperation initiatives.
Dong DMC’s participation focused on listening, dialogue, and understanding institutional perspectives, reflecting its role as a destination management company operating within broader frameworks of cooperation, trust, and long-term partnership development rather than short-term commercial engagement.
